COLUMBIA, SC — Tom Thompson could have a more difficult time getting elected than other Democrats in South Carolina next month. Thompson’s opponent in the race for state schools superintendent, Molly Spearman, has some high-profile Democratic support that could persuade normally Democratic voters to vote Republican.
